Our state of art training lab, which has double in size
this year, has specialized training equipment for testing and learning
that is found at no other training site. This equipment was specifically
built for new operators to understand the refrigerant outside the system
and to help understand what happens inside their system.
We build most of our training videos that are used in the program. We
are very happy to say that we will continue to improve training at the
highest level in research and development for ammonia
refrigeration.

1: PSM/RMP Ammonia Awareness

Garden City Ammonia Program has developed a 22 minute DVD
specifically for PSM/RMP Ammonia Awareness. It is designed to give new
hires a brief idea of the ideas following OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.119 and
also EPA's risk management program from book 40. We are finding more and
more that the industry is hiring new blood that are not familiar with
the requirements under these standard. So thus this DVD was created to
give them a idea of what the standards entail and an introduction to

6: Draining Oil from Ammonia Refrigeration Systems at Low Temperatures

Garden City Ammonia Program has done much research on
the affect of oil with ammonia within an ammonia refrigeration system.
During this experiment the vessel was never brought down to a vacuum. We
started around 70 PSIG and brought the vessel down to 0 PSIG. No
moisture or water was involved with this particular video. When water
was thrown into the equation in other testing, this reaction happen much
quicker.
The oil used in this particular test is a semi-semthetic. "Camco
717-HT". Many other oils have been tested with pretty much the same
results.

Licensed
High Pressure Boiler Operators must have knowledge on a variety of
subjects relating to power plant systems including: steam boilers,
environmental controls, water treatments, economic devices and safe
operation to prevent injury or damage. This includes high pressure and
low pressure boilers.
