        b. PSM/RMP Standard 29 CFR 1910.119

  1. Able to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain a multi-pressure ammonia refrigeration system. Possess a basic understanding of PSM safety requirements. Able to pass Operator I and II training courses at the Garden City Ammonia Program (GCAP).
  2. Must possess the ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair simple to complex mechanical and electrical equipment in a timely manner. Able to work effectively under time pressures.
  3. Able to perform semi-complex PLC and HMI repairs such as timer adjustments, upload/ download programs, or clear a fault.
  4. Able to read and interpret complex electrical diagrams and ladder logic.
  5. Able to effectively use a multi-meter, clamp-on meter, and megger.
  6. Able to operate, trouble shoot, and maintain the plant Freon HVAC systems.
  7. Able to operate, trouble shoot, and maintain the plant utility systems to include electrical power, hydraulic power, compressed air, steam (boilers) and condensate, water (domestic, hot, chilled, high pressure), and process and sanitary waste water.
  8. Able to effectively manage boiler, condenser, and hot-water water treatment programs.
  9. Strong working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  10. Able to perform electrical and mechanical preventative and predictive maintenance as tasked.
  11. Able to complete daily log sheets, communicate effectively, and be proactive in recognizing and reporting unsafe conditions and other mechanical concerns.
  12. Be proactive in the daily plant operations to ensure maximum plant efficiencies and product quality and capacity.
  13. Assists in maintaining a relevant and accurate mechanical inventory.
  14. Reliable and willing to work a flexible schedule.

RUI is looking for a Commercial Refrigeration Service Manager with extensive experience in the commercial refrigeration market.  This position will include managing service technicians, managing dispatch center, customer relations, customer development, and employee development. We are looking for a vibrant person who is willing and able to help us significantly expand our service business.

Job Description:

  • Manages the service operations to achieve profitable execution of assigned service business.
  • Ensures consistency and excellence of service and monitors and tracks service business plans.
  • Evaluates commercial properties for potential commercial maintenance agreements, develops and makes presentations to commercial prospects.
  • Ensures that pricing structures are achieved and maintained.
  • Determines the resourcing needs for service work by matching the capabilities of the service technicians with the length of the service job.
  • Resolves customer complaints and issues regarding service technician performance.
  • Manages service technicians and a dispatch center to deliver excellent technical and customer service.
  • Assessed service technician performance, ensures compliance to performance standards and initiates corrective action as appropriate.
  • Manages the recruitment, selection, and hiring of new service technicians.
  • Assists in developing performance standards and expectations for service technicians and holds technicians accountable for performance.
  • Leads and conduct service technician meetings, performance reviews, development plans, compliance assessments, and technician debriefing regarding service calls.

  Job Requirements:

  • 10-years of experience in one of the following ways:
    • 10-years as a Commercial Refrigeration Service Manager.
    • 5-years as a Lead Commercial Refrigeration Service Technician managing 15 or more technicians, have experience working with supermarket equipment and have 5-years of field experience in a non-managerial/supervisory role.
  • Sufficient technical knowledge and skills.
  • Strong initiative, self directed, multi-task and self motivated.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong customer relations and interaction skills.
  • Good presentation skills

  Additional Skills Desired:

  • Service sales experience.
  • RETA certification (1 or 2).
  • Associates Degree
