RETA offers certification at two levels:                 

RETA supports Garden City Ammonia Program (GCAP) as

 RETA Testing Location  

 After the completion of Operator I or Operator II, you can take the CARO or the CIRO on Friday. The testing will be done with Lasergrade at the GCAP's computer lab.   See Story about Lasergrade Testing and RETA.

GCAP's LaserGrade Testing Center for RETA is up and running. Very proud of being the first technical school in the U.S. with the new network testing with  LaserGrade and RETA's partnership.	Operators working on  Level one  "GREAT JOB GUYS"
	GCAP is the first Industrial Refrigeration Testing Center on line with LaserGrade for the CIRO and CARO Certification Program.

 NOTE: ANY AMMONIA OPERATOR THAT WOULD LIKE TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO TAKE THESE TEST FOR CERTIFICATION PLEASE NOTIFY US. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE ONE OF OUR STUDENTS.  The test will be give at 2405 East Fulton, Garden City, Kansas. Every Thursday and Friday of each week of the year.  Please notify us two or three weeks before the date you pick.

Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO)
CARO classification replaces the previous B level exam. The CARO examination was developed in response to industry requests for a way to measure whether operators moving into industrial refrigeration jobs have the knowledge necessary to function safely in an engine room under the supervision of a more experienced operator. The new examination is 100 questions and is based on two texts, Industrial Refrigeration I and the safety content of Industrial Refrigeration 4. There are no experience requirements to take this exam.

Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO)
The CIRO examination is for operators with at least two years' experience. It is 150 questions covering RETA's four industrial refrigeration texts and Basic Electricity II.

After our Operator II training program on Thursday, we give you 4 hours of refresher training on Friday morning for these test that could make the difference of pass or fail.  The training is on the down load material from RETA's web page.   (at no additional charge)
